Jersey residents eligibility for UK Credit Cards

Hi,
I thought I would post on here because my question is very closely linked with the original post.
I am a Jersey resident looking to get one of the credit cards highest rated by MSE for travel abroad. The best ones - Halifax Clarity, Capital One Class Extra etc. - are all unavailable in Jersey it seems. I want a card with no load fee, but aside from switching my current account to Nationwide in order to get their card, I can't see a solution.
Can anyone help?
Thanks,

nationwide exclude non mainland residents but halifax definitely will issue clarity provided you meet their criteria. They allowed me to switch my normal halifax cRd to a clarity with no fuss but others on here have not been so lucky.0

I don't have a normal Halifax card to begin with - do you think this is the problem? When I apply from scratch it gives the following error:
9300050 : Sorry, you can’t apply for this product if you’re not resident in the UK
This is after entering my "UK" postcode (a Jersey postcode can be selected at this stage from a drop down list, but Jersey isn't technically in the UK).
Is this a limitation to applying online? How did you go about doing it bouncydog? I will try ringing them tomorrow.0 -
I've had my account for years but rang them to see if I could swap for a clarity because of the overseas benefits. They scored me on the phone and all done. Give them a call and ask - very helpful in my experience.0

Hoping i'm in the right place to be asking this but i'm looking into bad credit cards for the purpose of rebuilding good credit, none of the ones I find seem to be available in the channel islands. What would anyone recommend? Has anyone been in this situation before? am I going to have to move to the mainland to get my credit score back up?

Mbna issue cards to CI residents as do Barclaycard. For Lloyd's you need to use their offshore site. Try your own bank first as they can see what goes in and out of the account. Which other providers have you tried?0
