New contract through a dealer, headache from Three
Options
Hello, I have found a great contract for Samsung S III from mobilephonesdirect.co.uk (for T-mobile) and as Three, my current provider, were unable to match this deal (I rang a few times to see if different people would offer different deals - and they did!), I gave them the required 30-day notice. They tried their best to tell me that I am not of sound mind if I think the deal from the dealer is a good deal - I was told the dealer is fishy, the phone I will be getting must be refurbished, the price per month will go up because there are catches in the dealer's terms and conditions etc. I had to repeat myself 10 times that I want to cancel and no, I don't want any more information about Three deals and no I don't want to hear for the tenth time that I am making a mistake by leaving Three, before they finally put me through to the cancellation department. If they want to keep a customer, they need to offer a good deal, not to slag off their competition. My question is whether mobilephonesdirect.co.uk deliver what they promise as I have read good reviews so far but Three have managed to put a niggling doubt in? Thank you!

This is typical from a Three call centre. At the moment they're being heavily targeted on retaining customers so will do or say anything and everything to get you to stay.
Now that they've said MPD is a risk it's planted that seed of doubt in your mind and any average Joe would probably believe the call centre guys and sign up for a standard price/worse deal through Three.
Luckily you haven't yet.
MPD have been used by various people in the past and seem fine. Although i would say that if it's a cashback contract you're taking out then it might be a hassle and they might not pay out. But the phones are brand new and unlocked and you shouldn't have any problems with them.0
