    Why would an executor NOT take our probate ? , once they do the will becomes public property and for a small fee you can access it anyway to look

    How do you mean `intermeddled` , do you mean for example spend money after the person has passed but before applying for probate ?

    they can put the house up for sale if they want , no law against, they just cant sell it without the grant

    Are you looking to challenging the will ? thats pretty expensive by all accounts and you have to have really quite concrete evidence that you have a case as well

    Seems strange you want them to get probate THEN challenge things , wouldnt it make sense to enter a caveat againts probate ?

    even then , you really need to have very good and justifiable cause if the executors then issue you a warning

    i dont see what advice you can get based on the little you are sharing , would suggest you actually go to the solicitors
