For the very reason that i dont now how much exactly i am liable for i have cancelled my DD, no way are they taking money without me seeing a bill in writing.

Does anyone know what the LA's deadline is for informing you on your new bill when it comes to them taking your first DD of the new tax year?

i can see the court systems throughout the UK getting clogged up with this as some half wit in government has come up with this ludicrous idea to hammer the unemployed again. They are a very presumptuous lot indeed!.

I imagine most wont be able to make a 1st payment until the very end of April if their lucky.

sandwich, does this help a bit more?

It seems to go into more details of what they are going to charge.

Not good news, and I agree they should have sent out the letters by now!

Mine is only just arrived today, and is pretty much same as last year, give or take a couple of pounds (for the year, not every month!)

PS It links to the act and I see there can be discretionary reductions for Council tax support :)

although perhaps someone could explain what 13A(1)(c)(1) of

Local Government Finance Act 1992 means in the context of the discretionary reductions?

Samwich I had mine this afternoon from Wirral Council. It is very late this year compared to normal. £117.00 a month starting 05/04. I pay full council tax though so maybe they have sent these out first? It should be on its way anyway. x

We've not had ours yet, Wigan MBC seem to be dragging their feet this year. I'm not worried from a budgeting point of view this year (for once ) but it's annoying all the same.

    Just a little update!

I have received my Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit letters today, i am still able to receive a little help with our rent but again no CTB.

So i am going to be paying full band B charges of £117 a month(was band A at our old property) plus whatever i owe them from my change of address in February however much that is!
And i still have not received my bill and im still going to be expected to pay from 1st April.

    Not a happy bunny!
  • Just to add to my last post.............

I have just got off the phone to WBC and they had apparently sent my council tax bill on 8th March...........so why have i not got it on 23rd???

Also i owe £98 for Feb-March, then they want £117 per month off me from April! They certainly wont get that from my wages i tell you.

So i ask for the £98 to be spread over a few months and my 2013/14 bill to be spread over 12 months, this is fine but OMG im still going to struggle.

    5th April i pay £114.25
    Next 6 months i pay £111
Then rest of the months i pay £97

I could cry, if it wasnt for the £98 extra from this year i'd only be paying £97 per month.
    Here's to a bad 2013/14 money wise :(
