I listed it too early. The wife was still in the process of getting the replacement.

    Geez

No need to get stroppy, you are in the wrong here, but realistically nothing much of any substance is going to happen.

Just ignore him, or if you want a little fun wind him up,

or tell him he can have the wardrobe in a week or so when you have the replacement.

Hi I wonder if anyone can help?

So I was selling a cupboard on eBay via auction. It sold and the buyer paid instantly. I was happy to sell this even though it went for peanuts. I emailed the buyer to ask if he wanted the whole set as I had 1 more that went with it. Anyway 30 minutes passed and my other half threw a wobbly as I had sold it prematurely (24 hr auction) and we didn't have anything to put our clothes in. So I apologized to the buyer and opened a resolution center case. I chose other as the reason for canceling the transaction.
Anyway next thing I know the case has been closed and the buyer refuses to cancel the transaction, which is his prerogative. I sent another kindly worded email to explain the situation.
I get a reply with full on abuse, things like "I hope the courts get you so you get a criminal record" and "I'm going to persue you through the courts and hope you get a ccj and it ruins your credit rating etc etc" A bit harsh in my book. He days he has limitless money to take me to court. The item webt for £9. So where do I stand? Could I go to
A small claims court and get done?
    Any advice would be great.
    Thanks!

People seem to be over-thinking this before asking the OP some crucial information: Did the auction say WHEN the wardrobe would be available?

If not, then given you are happy to sell it, just reply to the buyer saying that they can have the wardrobe, but all you are saying is that it's not available yet, and they can collect it once you have a new one.

(Or say that you WERE happy for them to wait to collect, but due to their abusive language, you are not wanting them anywhere near your property, and therefore cannot proceed with the sale.)

You need to report the abuse to Ebay.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I didn't mind selling it a week or 2 later at all

What you say is exactly what im feeling

    Good
    Advice
  • I've had people re-neg on sales, some at big ££ values. The last thing that crosses my mind is to sue the person. There's bigger things going on in this world then to think about suing a buyer for bit buying on eBay.
People need to re evaluate things.

This is about integrity - and you have none. If you had - he would have a wardrobe and your clothes would be in a box for a couple of weeks.

You will just get a well deserved negative - learn and move on.
