Being threatened with legal action

You'll be looking at a neg, loss of fees, a strike as non-performing seller and maybe the buyer will report you to Ebay.
He'd have to be mad to spend the £36(ish) to open a claim via Small Claims, talk is cheap.0 -
He hasn't got a claim, he has had his money back, buyers don't have fees, he can't prove he had to buy soemthing else instead because of it or that he stiopped bidding on other items, he is just a sad little powerless individual giving it the "big I am".The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Incorrect
If he had to buy a similar item for £200 to replace this one, he could sue for the difference.
It's called 'loss of bargain'
It's unlikely the buyer would do this, and it is also unlikely he has incurred any loss, but if he did incur a loss, this is recoverable.0 -

That is true but you have to limit your loss so buying a £200 item to replace a £9 item would be deemed excessive and doubtful a case would be won. For the amount it would cost to find another second hand item on a place like eBay or the like it wouldn't be worth court action. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
Thanks for the advice! I know it was silly of me to list without finding out 1st but to sue someone for £9 is quite excessive. I'd give the guy £9 on top of his refund.
There are far more important things in the world then trivial things like this.
eBay is full of people like this.
Yup, full of people not honouring the sales....Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
Why don't you just put your clothes ina box and let the guy have his wardrobe. Why the heck would you list a wardrobe if you still needed it?
You ask me, i don't like threatening buyers but i'd be hacked off too-it looks like you didn't get as much as you wanted for it and are now backing out. So you deserve your neg and report to ebay imo.0 -

Read my 1st post.
I listed it too early. The wife was still in the process of getting the replacement.
