Has anyone ever tried claiming back a lost recorded item?

I have, and the hassle is not worth the bother.

Yes I have, I get half a dozen forms at a time from the PO, fill out the form, enclose a note saying I want the RD fee back, and I always get 6x1st stamps back, well worth the bother in my mind.

Yes, twice. For parcels sent to the same address (suspicious!) and supposedly not arrived. I claimed the full amount both times and received cheques for £46 in both instances. No hassle, all dealt with very quickly.

I sent a letter by "signed for" recorded delivery - first class on Tuesday and it still has not been delivered - according to the royal fail "track and trace" it is being progressed through our network for delivery.
    What does this mean ?

there's a possibility the postie just posted the letter through the door without getting a signature.

Not that many; I got the forms about a year ago lol and have 2 left.

Getting out can be a problem for me so I routinely get everything and anything in bulk.
