I used the national call rate number and not the 0871 when I cancelled, only available during the week and normal working hours. No real issue at all apart from trying to get me to stay.0

I too think the landline number is new.
When I contacted the company earlier requesting a landline number and pointing out that I don't call 0871 numbers, the only answer was to call the 0871 number. Which I didn't.
So I didn't subscribe. I don't think I'm missing much. I may have been interested in watching TCM but have enough other opportunities to watch films.0 -

They are a very decrepid company, premium lines, poor quality website and basically run by shysters!!!!!!!!!!!! as pointed out earlier.
I know of someone who never signed-up with them but they did order a TopUpTv box whilst stating several times they did not want a subscription. She paid with a credit card and several months later they were taking money regularly out of her account. She called the credit card up and stopped money being taken out, contacted TopUpTv whom were adament they had a contract and she needed to cal the premium line to cancel which she refused and instead wrote to the company. They took her to Wescot Debt collection agency, stupidly she paid the money they were demanding! TopUpTv have refused to acknowledge her letter or refund any money!
I told her to speak to the CAB Citizens Advice Bureau or complain to OFCOM but she is too busy. Companies like TopUpTv prey on people like this!0 -
Thanks to all who replied to my post.
I was paying TUTV with my amazon ( bank of america ) mastercard. They continued to charge me through March and April. The bank immidiately refunded the payments to my account. During March I sent a letter to TUTV registered office ( solicitors office) in Jersey advising that if they made any further attempt to charge my card it would be treated as fraud. I also sent copies of my original e - mails and the letter to the bank.
There has been no charge made this month. I am not sure whether it was my letter or whether the bank applied some pressure.
One way or another, a small victory for the consumer. If a man does not keep pace with his companions, then perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away. thoreau0 -
You can still sign up for Sky sports 1 and 2 yet the service is ending next month via a TV aerial on the freeview platform.0
