Water meter unable to change to rates-new house

To be clear what my post was about.
The water company will NEVER EVER let the address be billed by any other method. You are stuck with the meter. Simply set up a direct debit paying cash to the water company in advance of your bill that you get once every six months. It will thus help you budget and you will have a smaller amount if any to pay when the bill is printed. Start your direct debit at £30 per month and increase it if the amount is not covering the bill, decrease it if you end up in too much credit.0 -
Why waste time calling them again? You've been told several times now that you cannot revert to RV billing once a meter has been fitted, unless it's within the first 12m by the same occupier.
Any complaint you have is with the agent and LL, not the water utility.
What i meant by calling them was to ask if we can still direct debit pay them a set amount of money each month, then top up at the 6 months whatever we owe.
If you read above i said when i rang them again they told me i could only pay in one big payment every 6 months, but on this thread someone said i can pay them some money each month instead.Save, save, save, save.0 -

All water company's can do this so if they refuse you could always take the choice out of there hands and send them cash each month by internet banking.
What is the name of the water company?0 -

United utilities. Spoke to someone else on the phone and they let me set up monthly direct debits and told me the person who told me i couldn't was 100% incorrect.Save, save, save, save.0 -
If you asked the landlord and estate agent if you could change from meter to rateable value, their answer could be taken as 'yes you can, or we have no objection to you doing so.
If the property was built or converted after 1991, then you HAVE to have a meter."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
