Oil delivery to wrong place - hypothetical question!

I've just stopped an oil delivery man filling my oil tank, he already had the pipe across the lawn ready to go when I saw him. He said that as he had delivered to me in the past he just assumed this was the right address.

As a matter of interest, what would have happened if I'd been out and he'd completed the delivery? Can they siphon it back out? Would I have to pay for it?

Just wondered really! Has this happened to anyone?

Thank you. I wonder what the outcome was. I can't really afford to buy any more oil, I normally only get 500l at a time anyway which lasts me ages, and am thinking of moving by the summer anyway. Unless they offered me a seriously silly deal, I'd want it taken away.

They can't force you to pay for something you never ordered. If it's a mistake, it's up to them to correct it at their own expense.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Hi that happened to us and they said they could get it out but offered us a good price on the oil they put in to save them taking it away. I caught them about halfway through the delivery, it's a shame I didn't leave it till the end lol.
