Farmfoods won't have the liability at all, as the contract will be between the (new) retailer and customer.

But still bad press as its branded with farm foods.

How is the liability if there physical contamination in that batch of milk. e.g. screw and some one choked and died from it?

I doubt the milk is kept cold during travel in her car.

    Summer is coming,
    .

How do you know the milk isn't kept cold, if she's got a boot it's fine. As for summer - yes it positively blistering out there....

    Happy moneysaving all.

Summer is coming, I won't be buying as I don't want to be ill.

I only started the first thread as a query anyway.
During hot weather if I am transporting cold food stuffs for a long period in my car i use a cool box with frozen packs in it to keep the food cold-how do you know the shop won't do this? And who's to say that any shop who goes to cash and carry use refrigerated vans to collect their chilled or frozen products-and there does not appear to be mass illness.
Sounds like a mountain out of a molehill tbh imho

For most of my childhood (and many millions of others too) we used to get our milk delivered - it was often sat on the doorstep until we got home, and then we didn't have refrigeration. I have never heard of anybody being ill from drinking milk that's been out of a refrigerator for an hour.

For goodness sake - the Health & safety brigade have really done a good job on some people.

As I have said above it will be tested for two hours and not one.

Its not just about making people ill, its about quality.
I do not want my milk turning into lumpy a yoghurt.

Micro testing is set up to cover the eldery and infirm.

Farm foods (not seen there exact micro protocol) will have factored in taking the milk out fridge once and not twice.
Thus while you will probably fine its not be verified.

SUppliers who are sending there products to a cash carry may reduce the total life of the product to compesate small shops taking the product out of refridgeration.

IF it goes lumpy before its date you return it to the conveniently located village store, have you never had milk or other foods from the big supermarkets go off before? How many people are going to drink off milk given it tastes and smells absolutely revolting?

Good grief we don't even know how long the milk is out of the refrigerator for in the case nor do we know how the shop owner is transporting it, the whole thing is wild speculation. All the serious nasties are got rid of by pasteurisation; if the person has a really weak immune system and no sense of taste or smell they should not be drinking fresh milk anyway, stick to sterilised or UHT.

  • when we had a corner shop (remember them?)in the 90s we bought from nearly all the main supermarkets when they had offers on, as they were often cheaper than the wholesalers, not illegal or immoral in doing it,nor were there any health issues involved, and hmrc excepted their receipts as proof of purchase for tax and vat purposes

    .

returning the milk is not the best use of my time. Taking it out of the chill increase the chance of the milk going off.

Remember there are lots of people on here complaining about minor irritations all the time likes its the end of the world thus is one instance where the risk is increased.
