I doubt the milk is kept cold during travel in her car.

Summer is coming, I won't be buying as I don't want to be ill.

I only started the first thread as a query anyway.
  • Most small business' get 'chilled' products from a cash and carry/other shop so will be transported in a car or van lots of cafes restaurants also do this If you are going to stop buying milk for this reason I would look into everywhere you buy/eat food from. Half an hour is acceptable for transporting unrefrigerated. Also in a lot of supermarkets the chilled section is near the beginning of the store (my local tesco is) so maybe my milk could be out of the chiller around an hour before it makes it to my fridge and Ive never been ill :)

I'd be more worried if it didn't have a label.

Mainly because shops should be buying from wholesalers but no they don't want to pay the yearly charge, so they decide to go to shops. It's unfair as the general public are not allowed to wholesalers without paying.

    I do shop at FarmFoods

Most 'proper' business wholesalers are free, you just need to prove that you have a business. The ones with charges (Makro, Costco etc) are open to pretty much everyone and aren't that great for wholesale prices, tbh.

The main problem is you don't know how long it was out of the fridge in between shops. Shops are required to have temperature records and by transfering from one to another most likely not under refridgeration there is no continuity of records.
There could be environmental heath issues at the very least.

I've worked in Morrisons and I can tell you for a fact that the chill chain is often very loosely adhered too. Pallets of chilled food were often left out of a couple of hours before being returned to the chillers even though legally it should have been 20 mins max

  • I don't know what you have in your mind because every person want to gain profit on their own business and tray to make all for customers convenience and on the other end customer also want to buy all the thing in one place. So I think it's not a big issue.

Have you ever been to Lidls at the start of a popular offer? Small shopkeepers buying dozens of the products to sell themselves at a profit.

Have Makro bought a charge in? My hubby is a plumber and we use Makro occasionally with our card and have never been charged to use it?

Not at our local one, except the £1.00 charge for using a CC if the purchase is less than £100.00.

I go back to my previous point. Why is this any different to the local store transporting the milk back from its usual supplier ?
I agree with most people on this thread - if you are going to be worried about this you should stop buying milk all together.
