Don't forget that price brings you into the free postage bracket - which makes it not much more expensive than your first choice plus postage.

Well, my gammon was lovely! My daddy doesn't believe it was cooked in cola. I would definetely recommend that recipe as it was yummy and easy!

Well done, I realised I had given my old one away but have since invested in a new bigger one and wouldn't be without it. Have fun trying new recipes.

Argos have a 3.5 ltr one for 8.99 - worth a go. Its a round one but a corner cut of gammon etc should fit in that nicely :D

I brought mine nearly 2yrs ago from ebay, 5 litre capacity, It was brand new and incl p&P was still less than half price from Argos, Ive never looked back.

Apart from the usual soups, stews & casserole's Ive made, Ive not really ventured into much else - but Im sure with time, I will improve

I got one for Christmas, and I'm reading up on all these threads with great interest. I've never used one before, and I've sent Bloke out to get some braising steak and other bits and bobs. I'm going to try the chilli :)

    Can't wait :lick lips smiley:

My sister and her chap have given me a 3-in-1 rice and slow cooker and steamer for my birthday! I am stoked! Best birthday present ever! Am very much looking forward to trying tons of new recipes.

(Just had to share with people who would understand.)

I'm getting one tomorrow from a lovely lady from my local Freecycle - try it if you are skint!

She says its brand new as well, unwanted wedding present :)

The pork story made me salivate Turning_into_scrooge. If anyone likes the crackling (I do) you can cut it off and put it in the oven for about 30mins to get crackling.

Can't wait to start using my slow cooker!

Anyone know how much they give off a food smell? Mr reckons that if we leave it on during the day the cat might try and get at it and knock it off the work surface!:o

Mine does give off a very appetising smell, so best used while you are out of the house, unless you have strong willpower. I think the cat would need an army of pals to either lift the lid or move it, as it is pretty heavy.

Poor puss will be tormented all day though :(.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D
