Has anyone actually found a job/got an interview from job websites?

Hi,
I am actively seeking full time employment and I've been browing the various jobsites like fish4jobs, totaljobs, and Reed which seems to be very professional but I'm not sure if I'm wasting my time as I don't seem to get many genuine replies.
I am 31, I have many years experience in administration, office management, have strong wpm typing skills, have experience in a niche sector, i.e the racing industry and am now basically looking to restart my career having been made redundant in 2011 and since I've been temping for low wages. I am willing to relocate with the London area most likely given the higher probability of finding work there. I'm not entirely sure what sector I want to spend the next ten years or more in but I know I have a lot to offer but like so many people out there I just can't find a decent opportunity and I am constantly looking. I would also be interested in the areas of logistics/transport, sports related industries, motor trade, and to pay the mortgage I need to find a job that pays at least around the 23-25k per year mark if at all possible.
If anyone has any genuine advice I'd really appreciate it.
Should I be using recruitment agencies? Are these job websites a waste of time?
Thanks for reading
***Can we please avoid just posting website addresses with some generic sales pitch as I've seen on other threads e.g. "I tried Acme Jobs . co. uk and I found them to be most professional and catered for all my needs, and it's free!" etc. ***

I understand where your coming from all these jobs sites seem to be the same positions and a lot I have found are fake positions for agencies to get your details. Despite this I have recently used indeed.co.uk and this seems to work for me as I applied for two large companies and got interviews with both coming up0

I got an interview from a job that was advertised on jobstodayIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0

I have got just about every contract that I have done in the last 10 years from JobServe.0

yes I have had two interviews from job sites both with agencies one job was filled internally, and the other was with a agency which was a one man outfit who basically called me a liar that I had broken my foot the day of the interview. My interviews was from cv library0

Mine was from the job centre website, so grateful for the job it's perfect for me and there would have been hundreds of applicants!0

My partner recently got a job from the .gov website. Good luckIf you change nothing, nothing will change!!0

Given that many jobs are now only advertised online then yes, many people will have got a job through a website.0

I use Reed but I try and filter it so I apply for the roles that have been advertised directly from the employer - rather than through an agency - first. I also google the jobs that I like the look of, that are through an agency, to see if I can find the company that it's for and apply direct. I've found I get more luck - even if it's just a genuine response or feedback.0
