Did he have an accident or did the Idiot that ran in to him ?Be happy...;)0

You need to check the exact wording of the question, most is wider than claim and includes "accidents" or "incidents"0

How did you answer last year when asked the same question?harveybobbles wrote: »Car Ins due for renewal next month, just shopping around and wondering what to put for the question "Have you made a claim in the last 5 years, regardless of fault.."0 -

My car wasnt moving, so it was the woman who ran into me that had the accident.. I was just a part of it.0 -

I was knocked down by a bus the other day. I was lying there and someone said, "OMG, have you had an accident?"
"No," I said, "It's OK. I was just standing there, the bus driver had the accident."0 -
surely it shouldn't make a difference, after that question you're usually asked they type of claim / accident.
I know with all the quotes Ive done, having a non fault accident hasn't increased my premiums.0 -

So if you had have claimed, would you have dealt directly with their insurance company, sorted all the paperwork, instruct the repairing garage, filed for the costs etc all yourself?
No, you would have instructed their or your insurance company to do it for you. Therefore technically you wouldn't have done it either.
Logic, sir. Yes you need to tell them0 -
Probably means last years insurance was invalid as well. because undeclared.0

I had this problem with my insurance company.
They came back to me a said I had made a claim, I stated I had not made a claim, the other person made an offer to repair the damage and I accepted.
She said I had had an accident, so should have to declare it. She did not like it when I replied I was sat n imy armchair when the vehicle was hit, so therefore I did not have an accident. She then said I should declare any damage to the vehicle, no matter how it was caused,
Upset her again when I asked her if she had a pen and paper and then started telling her about the stone chip on the bonnet, the trolley ding on the door, the scratch on the bumper, etc, etc, she told me not to be silly cos they do not count.
I kept asking how I could declare an accident when I was watching tv, and how did I make a claim when I did not claim any amount from any insurance, but accepted the offer from the other person to repair
She could/would not give me a definitive answer for any of these questions, just kept stating I must declare ANY possible claim/damage, not matter how caused
And yes, it did put the insurance cost up !!!!,0
