Coolnewmobiles - non receipt of claim
Options
I have been trying to gather information from people who have sent their claims to CNM only for them to say that they have not received it. Unfortunately I only got one reply - my list comprises of 2 people. Not enough to make a formal complaint. There have been several posts on this forum and no doubt on other forums from people who have had this problem. Why not come forward and lets get something done about it? PM me with your details - why let them get away with it.
YES, we should have sent the claim by recorded post and I make sure I do it now.
IF YOUV'E MADE A CLAIM AND CNM HAVE SAID HAVEN'T REC'D IT - SEND ME YOUR DETAILS SO THAT TOGETHER WE CAN HOPEFULLY GET SOMETHING DONE ABOUT IT!!

CoolNewMobile seem to be linked with PhoneBoxDirect which I am having loads of probs with .... so hacked off with them though I cant be bothered going through all the detail anymore .... have written to them (mobile media systems) and advised that I will be taking them to small claims court should everything not be settled within 28 days - as usual - no response from them....0

More whinging?
Do as instructed, on time and to the letter (and cover yourself with recorded delivery) and you'll ultimately have no problem with a reputable company. So what if they're taking a bit longer to pay out - it's all part of the game and big deal if you have to wait another few more weeks for payment. It's not as if anyone on the breadline takes out mobile contracts at £30 a month.
Some people not only want something for nothing.............but they want it at no costs too (even when they're at fault!!).
jackdoor, lets hope that you never get scammed. It would be a shame! We are only trying to get CNM to be honest and stop ripping people off....0 -
I have 2 phones through CNM. The best advice is to send your bills via recorded delivery. CNM tend to delay payment - up to a month after bill/cashback form received. I'm currently waiting for my 4th instalment to be paid.:jDON'T STEAL!!! Government HATES competition!:D Pay your tax and make voluntary contributions to the government! :A:T0

If you didn't use recorded delivery what is the point of starting this campaign?
It would be more use if you told your story (about your claim getting lost in the post when you hadn't bothered with recorded delivery) as a warning to others, rather than want to start this.
There are plenty of other problems with cashback schemes, but everyone should know things get lost in the ordinary mail. Especially cashback claims for some reason??0 -
To be safe I go one step extra and use special delivery, however i've only been with e2save.0

My first two claims were sent recorded delivery and were eventually paid. My third one was sent normal post and guess what, has gone missing.......0

In a court of law I would imagine it would go along the lines of:
"Do you have any proof you sent your claim"
You'd say "no"
Thats it no proof that you actually sent the claim, case dropped.
You don't stand a hope in hell. Sorry for sounding harsh but thats how it is unfortunately. In their terms they say send it recorded!!!
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0 -
I agree with Jackdoor completely. I work for e2save and I can assure you as long as you have a recorded delivery reference number to provide proof that the correct bill was sent to us within the correct time period your claim will be honoured. I know this is clearly stated in our terms and conditions and we stress it to our customer as much as possible.

my 2 pence worth.....how many times have you sent something recorded delivery only for the royal mail website to never show it's been delivered? I know for CPW cashback they get so many letters that they simply don't sign every one. Sometimes the posty can't be bother with a signature.
Where would your assurance under recorded delivery leave you then? RM will only pay £34 compensation. No good if you forfeit all your cashback.
A mobile company struggling under Cashback claims could avoid signing some letters and deny any receipt. I believe only the signature would confirm delivery.
So in theory those who send their claim recorded delivery could conceivably be in a similar position as the opening poster.
I agree that the opening poster will get little support however I do think that some kind of pressure may get these companies to change their T&C slightly. And whilst I'm no lawyer I would not think it too difficult to provide evidence that some companies are systematically denying receipt of claims simply on the basis of them not being sent by recorded delivery.
And finally....I know the the most overworked machines in these companies are the shredders.:rolleyes:0 -
As I said before coal32, even if the claim does go missing in the post or we do not have any record of receipt, e2save (and im very sure coolnewmobile are the same) will still honour the claim as you do have proof that the claim was posted.0
