omg I am elite and I didn't cheat.
I think it was not having any postal workers in my social group and having a higher salary (but that's only for now and could drop at any time). :)

I sympathise as we are no heating/no hot water for a day or 2 again and it's horrid. I can handle no heating as we have fan heaters but no hot water for shower in the morning is meh.
The emmersion takes about 3 hours to do a tank but I can't get up @ 4am to switch it on.

Immersion will have a thermostat, hopefully the tank is lagged, the extra cost of having it on all night and thus losing some extra heat will be what may be up to 8 units £1 - I think probably worth it to have a hot shower especially in the scheme of how much building work costs but what do I know?
    I think....

Thanks everyone for the tips for the service.

Technical something or other for us.

I think there are a lot of influencers in this country who do not realise how much better off they are than average as they just don't see how many people there are who live in those dull and slightly intimidating bits of towns and cities that are not destinations to visit.

    .

I helped someone out recently who said they were stressing about bills and income etc.

I know they got stuck with the ex's debt after a split and I know they have high outgoings (but through choice) so I said to do the budget planner on here as it includes everything....as it's the little things that all add up.

We did it together and it was scary as they don't have what I would consider a wizzy flash lifestyle at all yet 101k was the spend and I know they spend more than that as the holiday estimate was way under.

We cut 2k pcm straight away getting rid of cr*p. Even they were shocked.

Old horse is day to day fc123, but still enjoying each day. :). I am feeding her all her favourite things, which are not good for her, because its doesn't really matter now. She is very, very, very thin, which in itself is causing some....anatomical issues, there is no coming back for hr, but we are trying to make the last bit of her life fun ( and sugary).

Edit: re the shower, I did it, but put off washing air till tomorrow. Bit disgusting really, I put an overnight treatment in it yesterday......

Aaaah it's Immersion not Emmersion (:))

You know what I thought it would be about a tenner but £1, going to switch on in a mo before bed .......it's lagged ok with a new puffy jacket. The fizzing sound scares me a bit but it shouldn't blow up.

Was distracted at work today as had radio on and that bloke that burnt the house down with the 6 kiddies in it is really on my mind for some reason. I had to switch off in the end.

I think that's a fair point. But I also think there is a lot of the inverse too.

Edit...had to press send cos a cat jumped on me.

What I mean is that....I think there is a diverse in reality of expectation that's not helped by the way we arrange things like various benefits, credits, etc etc. elie to me suggests things like .....not having an expensive house, ( which is certainly better than average expectation) but having little debt to fund this for example.

One of the true luxuries many are denied, cross sectors, is time. Now time and great life balanc with financial comfort...that would be a nice marker for elite.

oh poor old horse. Maybe it will get warmer before she has to go so she gets a bit of warm sun on her back.
The worst bit is, I confess, I can only see in my minds eye Special Girl and Old horse.....I feel really bad as I can't recall the others.

Standard immersion ('immersed' in the water) is 3kw, if you have a big tank you may have 2, 6kw total. 3kw means uses 3kwh per hour at about 12.5p per kwh costs 37p/hour so Even if it was heating full time for 4 extra hours before 4AM when you would switch it on anyway it would only cost ££1.50 but in reality it will only run part of the time, first 3 hours getting up to temperature then on and off via thermostat, normally as well as the on/off stat there is a separate cut off stat for if the main stat fails. If it hisses too much perhaps you have the water temp set very high?

bed for me......I wonder what my clock will say is the temp. in our room. Last night it was a lovely 20 degs.

    I guess about 8 tonight. :(

OH likes to cuddle to keep warm but I find it hard to sleep with him slumped all over me snoring and grunting. I wait until he's asleep and push him off as he gets all offended + upset if I shove him off when he is still awake.:o

It's set @ 70. Is that too high? When I turn the dial it just goes to 0...maybe it's broken but it was only fitted about 3 years ago.
