lir - did you watch Watchdog? Story about horse selling.
There are usually lots of police in attendance and DD has horsey acquaintances who go to see it and feel sorry for some wretched foal and buy it.
The local pubs are compelled to close within a set radius, the shops close and there is a funfair in the square. I like the diversity of it..but it is strange to have a whole 'community come together" for a few days then go again. It happens every year and is a historic right and I like it to continue but tend to stay away.0 -
My concern is how easily will the 4 of us fit in, but then again we don't travel with all 4 of us very often, but then again when there are 4 of us it can be for long journeys. Decisions. Need to test drive in hot weather and with all of us.
Silvercar..IME you do not buy a soft top as a family car. It is what it is and you accept that if there is ever a time when you all go out in it you go on days when the roof can be down and you wear sunnies and your sons think they are cool young gods.
If it is pi55ing down you hire a car for the day/event.0 -
Anyway, dress problem is solved NDG, buy a mega mega hat and then wear a simple dress - sorted.
I would, but OH would object, big time. He isn't a mega hat fan.
I'm going to do my best to avoid going shopping for new dress with him - he has very good taste, but is extremely fussy, and it would take all day. My nerves definitely couldn't stand trying on 50 dresses or so!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
The three men in this house support Man City (the Mancunion obviously
), Man United & Arsenal.
The two men in this house wouldn't know a football team if they fell over one, I reckon.lemonjelly wrote: »In fairness/the interests of balance, the instructions is always the first thing I grab & read, before even taking stuff out of packaging!
You are granted honourable status among men for that!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

I cannot comprehend going shopping with a man for a dress..... mine would rather have stuck pins in his eyes than come clothes shopping!0 -

I almost always take mine....mainly to carry stuff and lean on. He is NOT fussy and my main problem is if I so much as take a second look a something he wants me to buy it.0 -

I've got a 2nd rehearsal with Adolf Fredricks Musikklasser tomorrow, which is like the Swedish equivalent of BRIT in Croydon. They're the politest kids I've ever worked with, plus the standard 9 country slots.
We're still in debate on how to present the winning song from last year, but apart from that, it's running like clockwork!
I can also confirm that we've chosen National Palace of the Arts in Kiev to host the Junior this year.
For LIR, and anyone else that may be interested, you can follow us on the official app, details of which can be found here.
What are your favorites so far? I'll give my verdict on Sunday, when we've heard the first rehearsals of all countries

Wow! You must be incredibly busy. I can't think how you find time to fit it all in - rehearsing with the children who will be entering the Junior contest and making being in management meetings to decide high level stuff like the venue. There must be loads of aspiring musicians who dream of a job like yours. How long did it take you working full time in the music business to get to the level you're at now?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Mine liked clothes shopping for me. He used to pick out things he'd like to see me wear and then try to persuade me to buy them even if I didn't like them.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? The reserve position is we can always fit the 4 of us in the Juke.
If the E class cabriolet is never to be a family car, then he may as well buy the SLK. OH think that is a girl's car!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I got to see the house I linked to on the other side.
All for research purposes
A wide angle lens really does distort the pictures; the lounge that looked cavernous is not too big to be empty, but big enough to look spacious.
Finished well but not top end. 2 big bedrooms and 2 OK size. The back garden has been planted well, but at the moment looks empty and it is very overlooked. New owners think they paid a lot - they did.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
