Does anyone have any experience of the foster system? I want a small(ish) girl with a shopping addictionRetail is the only therapy that works0

Top tip: If for tea you're having rice pudding and jam.... open the jam jar before you open the can of rice pudding. Can't get the soddin' jar open. Tried everything, both hands crippled with pain from trying ..... so no jam for me0

Try running the lid under hot water and/or giving it a tap on a hard surface? Have you tried a rubber glove/ towel for grip?0 -
Yep. We get visitors from Scotland who want to do the touristy thing in London and we don't know what to suggest.
I can highly recommend the Churchill War Rooms (and the cafe at the end is lovely too). I've never been to the Tower. I meant to before I left London, but never quite made it (and a lot of other places). Not that I'm so far away now!0 -

Not sure about tapping it - kind of accident prone.... no rubber gloves.
I've got one of those one-touch lid openers in one of my storage boxes. Bought it for my dad for Xmas 3 years ago or so, and slipped it into my box when I was clearing the house .... he never really used it, for all his "wanting" of it and urgently requesting one.
My hands are too small to fin round the lid - so I couldn't get a good grip. Small hands are a nuisance for stuff like that. I have the hands of a small 10 year old.0 -

Bang the edge of the lid on a hard surface.
Pierce the lid with sharp implement.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. You don't think it's posh because that's what you do..... but it's rare for people who have a party to [a] have enough glasses be confident it won't all be ending in a punch up in an hour.
As I've said before - I've not been able to afford to mix with people above the scum level, hence one of the reasons I've never bothered trying to go out and "make friends" as the only ones I could afford to meet/mix with are scum
I would never judge people as scum, just because they don't have much disposable income.
We have friends who never eat out because the budget doesn;t allow. so we coffee at each others houses. We also have friends that can afford considerably more than we can.
We also know people who might be considered "scum", though I hate that word and hate to judge like that, anyway their values were very different to ours and their moral code was somewhat lacking, they had a high disposable income, only partly because of the way they behaved. We didn't want to eat out with them.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
