Better buy a BTL now then Graham, and let someone else buy a house for your son.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

So, this is going to drive house prices up?0

If you are printing the money and then guarenteeing the money on top of printing it.....well, that's something I don't think we yet have history on is it? What really is the point of the bank?
Taylor Wimpey shares went from -0.5% on the day to +3.0% in short order to a new 5 year high. Anticipated increase in volumes, profitability and favourable treatment of debt? Good news because they're the lot that need to build the houses!Graham_Devon wrote: »Helps some of us today I guess....but I dread to think what this could cost my son in twenty years time
Everyone worries about their kids but, seriously, worrying about how much he'll have to pay for a house (or a tank of petrol, or gas bill) in 20 years is just pointless. You won't be any less worried in 20 years anyway- just make sure he leaves education as prepared as he can and he'll be fine.
Reminds me of Peter Kay telling his kids off "you lot, you've had it easy, me and your mother had to make do with Sky Digital in the evenings and only one car each!"0 -

As if they weren't high enough already.
Probably stupid question. Are we talking house prices as of right this second will start going up fast to reflect the change?0 -
The additional funding starts in January 2014.
So you have the rest of this year to get in ahead of it.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Help with buying (20% assistance)..... as long as you're buying NEW. If this was really to help the purchaser then this would be for any property.
The £600k cap on this shared equity is outrageous. This should be £100-200k max. I don't feel the need to help rich people buy houses.
This will inflate house prices still further.0 -

They already have.
Prices up over the last year on almost all the major indices.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
