Dopey question - do you switch wireless routers off?

We have just set up a netgear wireless router (after a fair bit of hair pulling and language I won't repeat here! lol) and are not sure if we are supposed to unplug it when we shut down computers.
Can't seem to find an answer to this very 'simple' question anywhere!!
Can anyone put me out of my misery please? Will it all have to be set up again if it is unplugged at night?

No generally they stay on all the time

but once set up there is no reason why it cannot be turned off as the settings are saved

leaving it on standby all the time does use up powerEx forum ambassador

Cheers! Will unplug it and see what happens then. I'm a bit paranoid about it if I'm honest and worried about leaving it on all night.
We have secured it, (unlike others around here!), but it's still scary when you're not used to them - toooo many horror stories.

Leave it plugged in, that way your neighbour can carry on surfing when you are in bed.0

There's no such thing as a dopey question, and I just wish that I had realised that many years ago.0
