Talk Talk Fail

I recently signed up for Talk Talk phone and broadband after Martin's recommendation. They have changed my phone over but not my broadband.

There is nowhere on their online site to report this problem. When I called their customer service the initial person answering said that it wasn't her department and transferred me to a person who tried to tell me that I had a line problem.

Now I am stuck. There is nowhere for me to report the problem and I am paying for both Talk Talk broadband and Virgin (my previous provider). I can't see any other option other than to cancel Talk Talk so that I am at least only paying one company for broadband.

Any suggestions welcome. Many thanks.

They'll tell you any old rubbish. Cancel Talk Talk, unless you want more of the same.

If you were on VM cable, then in order to get TT, you either had a new line installed or an existing one reconnecting-which was it? So the new service operates on an entirely separate network-both can co-exist.
There is no broadband 'changeover'. Your ADSL broadband would (or should) have been enabled on the new line. ADSL broadband is self-install, unlike VM cable. They send you the modem/router, and you set it up yourself.
If your VM service is till active, then either they have not yet disconnected you (very common) or TT have failed inform them of your departure. Never trust a telcom to cancel your existing service for you. If the service has not been cancelled, then you'll need to do it yourself and give 1 months notice.

... assuming you're not still in a minimum duration contract term. (Yes, you can still give 1 months notice, but if you're in a contract then there may be early termination charges).
