    Welcome to MSE :hello:

Be warned they will have asked for your card details so they can automatically take payment for a policy in 12 months time.

Yes I was going to comment on that topic. If you pay by way of your credit card you will have one heck of a job cancelling the payment.

Always pay by DD if you need to have credit and never by recurring CC payments.

The way they calculate based upon call outs is interesting .
They say to gold members they will increase the number of 'free' call outs, yet if you use them your premium goes up for the next year. They are therefore not free.

The retention guy went into a spiel that the AA were not insurance, which left me wondering why they do calculate on past call outs.
Either way, I cancelled yet they renewed me anyway!
To all reading this be really careful!

Vikings guide to cheaper car breakdown insurance:

    (1) Never renew
    (2) Don't even bother wasting 15 minutes speaking to any retentions department

When you get your renewal docs:

    (1) Send them an email cancelling renewal - takes 1 minute.
    (2) Check out the best breakdown cover cashback on TCB or Quidco.and buy through the link (5 minutes).
    (3) Waste the other 8 minutes you've saved on MSE.

Normally I change from AA to RAC to AA etc each year.

    End of.
