whats the machine actually doing, dell can get around faults by replacing the main board easier enough

The laptops wifi connection speed fluctuates, most the time reads 0.05mps! I know its not my network as every other machine works fine and have tried it on other networks

Dell is sending out a technician to replace the motherboard, lvds cable, LCD screen and palm rest on Monday, hopefully this will sort the problem. It's just to dont expect to buy a new laptop and all these essential parts replaced soon after.

Checked my records, the replacement for Laptop 1 was actually received on 11th January so under 3 months, although initial transaction was done on 16th December.

S75 is in effect 6 years.

Yep, in effect. As a pedantic point, there is actually no time limit to S75. S75 makes the CC jointly and severally liable for breach of contract or misrepresentation.

Limitation on breach of contract claims is usually 6 years from the time of the breach (not the transaction date - though often they will be the same) - S5 Limitation 1980. Caselaw suggests the limitation for misrepresentation is the same.

So the CC is protected after 6 years just as the merchant is in the event the cardholder starts an action.
