  • Hi Ickle, my brain won't switch off so I'm still on line, failing dismally at the 'don't look at eb@y activity' or lack of it

Take it easy and hope you feel better in the morning. With the gorgeous weather it's no surprise :o

We have for the most part given up with eb@y and are trying to flog most stuff on Am@zon or preloved.

I have a good double buggy that should be worth a fair bit that we are thinking of getting rid of (although it seems a big step!) and a lot of local people have recommended selling on local facebook groups so I might try that.

    Hope you feel better:)

Thanks guys!! (Fothers what were you doing up at that ungodly hour?)

Why do 'summer' colds always feel worse? Mind you shouldn't complain DH made me breakfast in bed - although this will be to ensure that I don't make him do the weekly shop later :rotfl:

So weekly shop and washing are top priorities today (hopefully the weather will stay as it is and the washing line will get used!)

    Must buy tissues!

So far I have not looked at eb@y - will I make it to Saturday?? :o

Sadly I had been up an hour by the time I made that post.

DD3 likes to start the day at 04.30am. I am waiting for the day she is old enough to grasp the groclock theory.

Washing out here today- fingers crossed I don't need to make an emergency dash to retrieve it in!

Good work with the ebay willpower:)

    Willpower is still holding . . . . . . . . just! :D

It's payday tomorrow and this month includes some travel expenses and an extra day's pay! Again no extra OP with any of this as we need it for DDs and food! :(

We have had good news on DHs job front today though so we have everything crossed that it comes to fruition next week. I'm taking annual leave next week but it may be a busier week than I had anticipated!!

I did the weekly shop but it came out more expensive than planned :o I'm blaming feeling naff :rotfl: DH laughed when I told him I was upset cos it was over £40 this week - he'd recently seen an old Top Gear where they mentioned the average weekly spend was £30-40 and that was about 20 years ago!

Washing was out on the line and nearly dried by the time the heavens opened - just a few thicker items on the airer!

Yikes fothers that IS an early start! We joke that having another child might upset the apple cart (as DD is overall very easy going and likes her sleep) but once things are settled I would like to give her a sibling!

    Me again at this hour!

I am in bed by 9pm most nights to make up for it though. She actually sleeps like a dream, plonk her down for the night and naps as she goes off to sleep happily on her own and *touches wood* always sleeps through. All 3 of mine have had prolonged periods of early starts so she will grow out of it eventually-sigh. I can't ignore her either though as her shouting will wake up the other 2 so I am pinning my hopes on the grow clock in a few months.

Well done on the ebay willpower and just imagine hope much better your grocery shop is than the average person. A lot of your neighbours probably pop in for top up bread and milk and spend that!

Thanks fothers!! You're right and when I take a step back and look at what I bought it certainly isn't bad!!

Sounds like your day is just shifted forward! I've heard good things about the groclocks - bet you are looking forward to when she is ready for it!!

Still not checked eb@y!! I am looking forward to looking tomorrow tho - it's been quite painful!!

Today was payday so spreadsheets updated, money shifted and all up to date for another week! I am now very nearly at the end of what I had saved up to tide us over while DH was not bringing home a wage so our plans need to be sorted before June!

Spendy day here - needed to get a birthday present for my nephew . His other Auntie and I decided to go halves on a football shirt for him and she asked if I could get it. At £6 postage DH suggested a trip to the shop to get it - turns out they were BOGOF so he wanted to get one for himself too! Also picked up a cute beanie hat as a present for a friend's daughter for £1 and one for DH for £2.50. Total spend £18.50

Used the trip into town to go to HB to get some cheap toiletries Total spend £7.60

Then comes the spendy bit . . .
The bad decision to 'pop' into M@kro to get DH some chewing gum (he goes through a lot so we buy in bulk) turned into a £111 spend!
All items were good deals/things we needed/refilling our bulk buying shelves and at least it means I could put it on the 0%CC
On the bright side I now don't need to ration myself on the 'one sheet' kitchen paper quite so frugally (we were down to the last roll) and I am looking forward to sleeping on my new pillows tonight!
Also now have enough Pixie dishwasher tablets to last until Christmas! :D
No toilet paper was added to this shopping trip as I have been banned from buying it (last time I went on my own I bought 40 rolls thinking we were running low . . . when in actual fact we had a further 60 ish rolls tidied into a cupboard) :o :rotfl:

    It's the weekend!!!

    It's Saturday!!!

I looked on eb@y and although there are still only 7 watchers there are 2 items with bids on them!! :j Still got fingers crossed that a few more may sell before tomorrow evening!

I realised that the first signs of this cold started on 7th May - I'm willing my antibodies to get up to speed and kick its ****! It is certainly not making me feel like I want to go out and party tonight :(

This afternoon will be filled with housework but hoping to get it done quickly so I can have a bit of time making myself feel better before I go!!

Having a busy day making the most of the weather so just a quick update as I popped in to check how eb@y was going!!

So out of the 18 items listed 6 are still waiting to end and out of the other 12 the grand total of 1 sold!!! There was a bidding war in the final seconds tho! 'Money for old rope' doesn't seem to be the case for our unwanted [STRIKE]tat[/STRIKE] items :rotfl:

Last night was very cheap!! Times for meeting up changed so ended up parking after 8.30 so no charges! Only had one drink which a friend bought for me (was more than grateful as it was a very nice mocktail that cost a small fortune!). Our little group left the party rather early as it wasn't really our 'thing'!! :o So total spend was £10 which was my contribution to the collection for her present!

Going to the in laws for Sunday roast soon - we have wine warming in the sun to take with us along with pud! They have mentioned that they are tidying out their summer house and if there are any toys in there that we want for DH they're ours!! Really hoping there are some outdoor toys as she is loving being outside in this weather but we only have a ride on car (gifted second hand) and a scooter (Christmas present from my parents).

Keeping fingers crossed for my few final eb@y items!!
