Transfer from BM ISA, no sort code provided?

Last year I got a BM Savings ISA Extra, issue 3. I received a letter only stating a 12 digit account number.

Now I wish to transfer out, but the xfer form provides space for 6 digit sort and 8 digit account number.

It also provides a roll number.

BM have no branches so presumably the sort listed on where you send deposits to is actually my ISAs sort? But then what about account num? Is that theirs too, then my BM acc num is the ISA Roll num?

Thank you

for which account - your old, or your new ISA?

If in doubt, ask your new provider to help you fill in the form.

Well the standard practice is the xfer form is provided by the NEW provider, so that's what I was referring to.

I will call them but I was hoping for a resolution on here. Besides, doubtless many other MSE members are going to be running into the same problem and 2 second Google will be preferable to a premium rate number and a lot more time (a Google for "bm savings sort code isa transfer" already lists this thread as a top result).

That is correct, the xfer form is provided by the new provider, and typically you have to provide information (such as sort code and account number) about both, your old, and your new ISA. It's not clear from your post what account information you are having a problem with, and what that problem is.

Well the new provider info is yet to be created, so of course I don't have that.

Basically, the transfer in form I have has space for a 6 digit sort code and an 8 digit account number. I just called BM Savings and they only have a 12 digit account number. They said they don't have a sort or account number they can give me "because we're not a bank".

So basically the transfer form I have now cannot accomodate what I need to enter. UNLESS that's what the ISA roll number is, but again I'm not sure. Anyway if no one here knows I'll post back with the result. Going to visit HSBC now.

I had the same thing with my M&S Cash Advantage ISA - long client reference number but no bank / sort details.

I just amended the form and annoted it and sent it off - I'd guess that the banks will work it out between themselves, but it's odd the forms have such a rigid format considering the variations.

Yea, 'tis a bit frustrating. Went into HSBC and they advised to just ignore the sort and account number and just put the reference account number in the ISA Roll field.
