Stacking a tumble dryer on top of a washing machine

I'd go for a shelf - a piece of old worktop is usually ok for this, a run of 2"x1" around the walls to support it.
Assuming the width is anything over 3" wider than the tumble, you'll have a bit space to stick the washing powder / conditioner on.0 -

There are potential safety issues with doing this as explained on this article http://www.whitegoodshelp.co.uk/wordpress/stack-a-tumble-dryer-on-top of-a-washing-machine/Whitegoodshelp0 -
I put an old piece of carpet underlay (carpet would do the same job) between them. This keeps the tumble dryer in place when the washing machine is vibrating.0
