I agree with the points about contracts, always make sure you calculate the total cost and can afford it. I recently took out a 24 month contract, but only £10-a-month (£20 Quidco cash back) so £220 in total with a free phone worth around £100. It can be capped so never costs more than the £10 and the allowances are decent (500 mins, 5000 texts, 500Mb data): http://shop.tescomobile.com/mobile-phones/pay-monthly/htc/desire+c?deal=78210

This is all good stuff. Thanks very much.
The phone I'm using just now is an old school HTC Desire which does the job but it's pretty buggy and the internal memory is shot to the point that it doesn't allow me to download anything.
After this I think I may cancel the contract and just stick a PAYG sim card in it and see what happens. Struggling to shake off this materialiastic urge for some high-end bad boy phone though.....haha.
Still not had an answer to the pros and cons of going through the independent retailers. Their deals are all superior to the networks. What's the catch?0 -
A PAYG O2 phone with a bolt-on is as good as any. Cheap with a good phone selection0
