Help with digital photo frame-SD or CF???

  • Will your CF card fit into your card reader? Are you sure that your laptop doesnt already have a suitable card slot for the CF card? You need to transfer(copy) the photos from the CF card not from Truprint onto your laptop then transfer them onto an sd card. Ive just tried to "download" some of my truprint pics but they come up as tiny little things-unless anyone else knows how to do it. (I was just experimenting-I dont need to download mine).

No, I don't have a card reader on my laptop, and all my photos are already on Truprint and not stored on my CF card. I have been experimenting with Truprint & as you say above, they only appear tiny, however, by viewing them on slideshow, and then right clicking & saving to docs, they do then enlarge correctly, but, very time consuming!
  • I can't beleive that you are using an online storeage as your only location for your photos do you not have them backed up on a cd/dvd somewhere?

Thanks Little John, have finally managed to figure it out, but it's taken ages!

What is the matter with using on-line storage BTW?

If the website closes you will loose them. always have a backup on cd/dvd and hard drive. External drives are cheap now so most people can have them.
  • Thanks for all replies, one more problem though!

I've transferred 234 photos onto SD card, now trying to put on a couple more, but I keep getting the above error message?

I've checked the capacity of the SD card & still have 962MB space available so it can't be that.

The photos are currently stored on 'my pictures'

    Any ideas?

Have the files you are copying got unique names?? (are those names already in use on the card?)
  • truprint gets rid of you photos after a while so i suggest that if you do not manage to download them that you get them printed via truprint asap! I store some photos in googlemail but online storage is never very safe.

They are in a folder in 'my pictures' and they are all numbered. I've renamed a few of them, but still get the same error message?

I do normally get them printed anyway, but, I've just checked my stored albums back to 2004, and thankfully, they are still there.

I think the easiest solution is to have the photos printed, then scan them and save the scanned images onto your pc. I would do this with the older ones as well. Storing your photos online with Truprint is just not an ideal solution and at sometime you will probably lose all or some of them.
The other thing you could do is to make sure that you invest in a cardreader that reads both CF and SD cards as you will want to find a permanent solution to this ongoing problem. Meanwhile, I would contact Truprint and ask how/if you can download your images to your pc. This is what I would do first as this is the easiest and won't cost you anything. Alternatively they may be able to send you the images on cd? This wouldnt be too expensive either.
