Help with digital photo frame-SD or CF???

Please Please help!

Have just received digital frame (following a thread on this site), it's only a basic one costing £21, it's for hubbies birthday this week. However, my CF card in my digital camara doesn't seem to fit in the frame which states either SD or MMS card?

I assumed that it would just be a case of swapping the card from the camera into the frame, as indicated on the web site.

Please can anyone advise how I transfer my photos (all held in on-line storage) onto a SD card?

Thank you:confused:

well if you have a card reader then the only way would be to copy them from the CF from your camera (or your hard disk) onto a SD card. Then put the SD card into the photoframe.
You can get memory cards nice and cheap online. Dont ever buy them from the high street, such a rip off!!!

  • Thanks Jeremy.

Still slightly confused though, could anyone advise on the type of card reader I need?

My laptop is Acer Aspire 5040, and the specs say PC cardreader type 11?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Any card reader that accepts an SD card is what you need, the cheapest that I have seen have been at the £ shop. You insert an SD card into the card reader and then plug this into your PC's USB port, to copy your pictures across. You have misread your spec above, that is a PC card type II expansion slot.

    Thanks (again) Espresso

Now I understand what I need to buy however, could you explain briefly, what the above expansion slot is for?

    Cheers!

Used to add extra expansion devices to your machine. i.e. a mobile network data card, more USB ports, parallel port, serial ports, Bluetooth etc. etc.

  • Thanks for all previous replies, have just received new SD card/reader & is now attached to laptop via USB

Could anyone (in simple terms please) advise how I go about transferring around 250 photos that are currently held in truprints' on-line storage onto the SD card?

    Thanks

you will need to download all your pictures to your PC and then copy them over to the memory card. It is possible to go direct to the memory card but I wouldnt do it as it could go wrond and you would need to start again so to the hard drive then copy to the card.
  • Thanks little john, but how do I copy the photos from Truprint to a file on my PC? And, will I have to do each photo individually?
  • Will your CF card fit into your card reader? Are you sure that your laptop doesnt already have a suitable card slot for the CF card? You need to transfer(copy) the photos from the CF card not from Truprint onto your laptop then transfer them onto an sd card. Ive just tried to "download" some of my truprint pics but they come up as tiny little things-unless anyone else knows how to do it. (I was just experimenting-I dont need to download mine).

copying from truprint I dont have a clue and I am not going to sing up for it. Most of the time there is an option on the screen to download your image or you have or on the thumbnail screenthere will be a tickbox for each image and another option with a dropdown box where you can select download ot copy to or print. use the download or if thats not an option the copy to and copy to your PC.

I can't beleive that you are using an online storeage as your only location for your photos do you not have them backed up on a cd/dvd somewhere?
