bigpockets.co.uk

Hi, I recently bought a refurbished laptop for my elderly Father, who is a pensioner. I advised him to use a web site bigpockets. I have used them before and so too have some of my friends. We bought a laptop on the 25th February by using his normal debit card. They took the money and a few days later the web site went off line. It looks like they have stopped doing business, however I also believe they were owned by internet companies ukdvdr.co.uk and svp.co.uk
We have made contact with all three and no one has returned any messages.
How do we go about getting his money back?. Has anyone else had any problems such as this please?

There doesn't appear to be any conenction between bigpockets.co.uk and ukdvdr.co.uk or svp.co.uk - what makes you think there is? All three domains are registered to different Limited companies, with bigpockets being registered in Stourbridge and the other two in Scotland
The site is registered to a company called IT Solution Limited, who appear to still be trading (nothing on Companies house to indicate being disolved).
Your best bet would be for your father to speak to his bank and ask for a chargeback on the basis of non-delivery.0 -

As suggested in that article, he should then contact his bank.0 -
Contact bank NOW.
Nice simple chargeback for non reciept of goods. Should not require any paperwork and should all be done via the phone.
Refund on acc in a couple of days and then retailer has 45 days to contest.
Need to prove delivery in reality (read signed).Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

I can confirm they are related. I recall bigpockets buying out the other two when blank disc websites were really profitable, if there has been a change since that is another matter0 -
they have gone bust according to a post i read recently0
-
bigpockets were also boffer, IIRC - they used to be quite good stock shifters, can't say it's looking rosy in the garden0

Hi, the exact same thing happened to me. Just file a dispute on PayPal and you'll get your money back0

I have been reliably informed that Bigpockets have closed down.I have dealt with these,SVP and UKDVDR who were all bought out by the online Dragon Shaf Rasul, they were also into Boffer,UKXS and Bigoffers If anyone is having issues with Bigpockets it may be worth Contacting UKDVDR to see if they can help0

That is sad.
I have bought so many things from bigpockets over the years, and the bag o' crap was always good for a laugh on boffer.
Hope you do get your dad's money back. If you are looking for another website dealing in second hand laptops, www.schtrade.co.uk is very good. I've just bought a thinkpad X61 from there and it is in great condition and well worth the £66 I paid.0
