Didn't you also get a welcome letter from Sky with details of what you would be paying?

Or is this some form of retention deal?

Regardless, why didn't you complain when the first "error" occurred?

Sky don't send out a "what you'll be paying" letter. I was expecting one when I signed up but got nothing.

Well I certainly got one, I have it here in front of me now from last August.
It's helpfully headed " Let's confirm what you'll be paying"

Customers can also check the bill (prior to it being taken) online.

Or press "interactive" on the Sky remote...

For clarification - your contract is for the viewing card only, NOT price. That said, SKY will usually lock in the agreed price for 12 months anyway, BUT, the services they supply will always offer additional elements that will add to the basic costs.

Check your online account to see a breakdown of the charges.

Interesting. Never got one at my parents a few years ago, not got one with my new contract at my new house and my dad didn't get one when he took out sky this week!

I have said this numerous times....if you agree anything with any company (Sky, BT, Barclays, etc.), always send an email to confirm the agreement.

I have always done the above and, if the company disputes the agreement, you have evidence to argue with and often get compensation for the company's incompetence.

    HTHs.

I have to say an email is not foolproof, nor binding for that matter.

Anyone can create a fake copy email stating what they want/expect, and when the dispute matures, that fact this copy exists means nothing. However, to work, a LETTER is viewed as a valid communication, and your copy of this viewed (by courts) as acceptable for evidential purposes.

:rotfl::rotfl:I ain't laughed so much for ages !!:rotfl:

I always communicate via email and I have had got some great deals over the years; including :
    1. A free replacement 3-piece suite.
    2. Vouchers given to me due to many companies incompetence.
    3. £199 given to me for a chartered airline delaying a flight for over 24hrs.
    4. Compensation for companies not turning up for appointments, etc.
If you want to pay and post letters rather than ems, good luck to you ;):rotfl: but why waste money ?;)

Companies will always respond to ems. If they don't and someone needs to go to court, then just send a final registered postal letter to the company before the court action and refer to the ems. If they then don't respond satisfactorily, then start the court action. For info, I have never had to resort to the final registered postal letter cause the companies always respond and accept what I say.

    HTHs.;):rotfl::)
