Moving from O2 to O2???
Apologies if this has been answered but couldn't find it.
My O2 contract is due for renewal and they can't offer me a good deal. I have looked at Dialaphone and they have adeal (with O2) that appeals.
Will I be able to keep my original number? How do I do this? Are Dialaphone good at giving cashback?
Thanks for any replies

Not too sure on how Dialaphone are with their cashback.
You wont be able to transfer your number from O2 to O2, your best bet will be to transfer it to payg on another network and then arrange for that number to be ported to your new contractSLC: £13000+
Quidco: £131.24 (paid) + £0 (validated) = £131.24
Valued Opinions: £75 (paid) + £52.30 (received) + £4.50 (pending) = £131.80
StudentPanel: £250 -
Dialaphone are VERY good with their cashback.
I think they are the ONLY company that I have not seen slated on this forum.
I have been getting two contracts with them every year for 3 years now. I've just taken delivery of a couple of new phones from them. The cost of my new contacts after cashback via the you at work site and the £20 self referral will work out to around £10 per month for 600 mins.
The above information with regards to porting your number from O2 and back is essentially correct. I am about to do this with T Mobile to Vodafone then back. Hi, instead of switching to a new contract with dialaphone because a better o2 deal with them, simply call o2 retentions and explain you want to end your contract because you have seen a better deal elsewhere. They will match the deal or give you a better offer than dailaphones offer!
I did this last year and got the k800i for free with a tarrif that people would normally have to pay for the handset with it being newly released. In doing so i got a better deal than was advertised with dailaphone and saved on the £89 handset cost
Well worth a try to save the hassle of ending your contract and then starting a new one up with them through somewhere else.0 -
I did do this. I rang O2 and asked for their best deal. They didn't offer anything good. I told them the dialaphone offer (not saying it was with O2) but he couldn't match it and txted me my PAC code!!
Don't think O2 want to keep their business. I have been with them (getting a good deal previously) for 12 years! I'm a bit worried that I'll get a new phone with a diff network and then not be able to "unlock" it later if I need to.
Will have to do lots of research methinks!0 -
i've had exactly the same as u Elljay. i'm really disappointed coz i've been with o2 for 7 years now, and don;t really want the hassle of porting my number. i, currently paying £15 for 200 mins and 500 txts. i found a deal on dialaphone with o2. 300 mins and 250 texts, plus free k800i. but they said they couldn't match it
i already have my pac code, need to call dialaphone to see what they can do with regards to keeping it
Porting your number to O2
Whilst we support porting your number to the O2 network, it is the most difficult of the porting processes and therefore we recommend that you take a new mobile number from us.
Of course, if your mobile number is important to you, we will happily manage the porting experience for you. To start the ball rolling you will need to call us on 0800 1071685 - our opening hours are 7am to 1am. Please note however this must be before you place your order.0 -
Thanks Emma!! That's the deal that i 've chosen! Have just got my PAC code so will ring them tomorrow. Let me know how you get on. Have you rung them yet?0
