purchased phone online over a month ago. quickly realised it was inappropriate for my son so rang and cancelled order within about 10 mins of making order. Informed refund would be put back on credit card.
this has still not happened despite ringing customer services several times who promised they would sort. Payment of £75 now due on the credit card.
can anyone give me advice/help me as it seems carphone warehouse are not forthcoming in refunding the money!
V frustrated as ive spend houirs on phone trying to sort

Not really fair to blame CPW, ten minutes longer thinking about the purchase would have saved all of this, pay the card bill and await the refund from CPW.0

By law (Distance Selling Regs) they have to refund you within 30 days of cancellation.0

I suppose then you've never changed your mind about a purchase?

Idiot
Idiots change their minds after a purchase then blame others for their foolhardy ways.
Of course I have changed my mind but always before parting with my agreement.
Your Dad told you it is not ok to be stupid, as said in post 2 and 3, you will get your refund0 -
Contact the credit card company and challenge the payment. They will freeze it until it is resolved. I wouldn't bother with the other remarks, which show more about the person than anything else.0

Which is what was said in post # 2 and #3
CPW has not stolen the money,so the card thing won't be as you describe, the OP will get the money we all agree on that.0 -
You're the only one who's said anything about stealing. In any case, you obviously don't understand how credit cards work. It's a normal transaction which is now disputed. Simples - even for someone who finds basic principles difficult to understand.0

It is a normal transaction, so the OP will have to wait up to the 30 days for CPW to refund, they can refund immediately, but they have 4 weeks to do so, so at the moment the OP does not have a dispute. Even if he does have a dispute, it still takes time to resolve.0 -

I think the problem is that the OP has already waited over a month
I agree, I still stand by post #2, we do not know the T&Cs of the OPs CC, some are 90 days, I had to wait 2 months for a refund from Amazon, so irratating as it is for the OP, it is not all the fault of CPW, he does not mention what correspondance he has had from CPW. But as much as we may want to debate the issue, it won't be resolved much if anymore quickly than if he learns where he is in the process.
The handset could have already been dispatched and waiting to show up on returns before the refund is completed. It may simply be an oversight in the clerical section.0
