Mi sister used to work for G+J Greenall and they get staff discount at De Vere hotels (Cameron House, Slayley Hall, The Belfry) well they have one in Blackpool and the last time I stayed there it £25 for the room and we got breakfast free. Maybe I should ask sis if she could do anything for us. I may be able to get a couple of rooms. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Go for it Lenny. I've been looking and there seems to be hundreds of places to stay there!

The De Vere Hotel in Blackpool is next to the zoo and Stanley Park, quite a long walk to the prom.Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

I'm a def, i only live a couple of miles away and know the area fairly well. The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0

Hello Everyone,
It is ages since I posted but reading this whole thread might persuade me to come and visit one and all in Blackpool.
The only hotels I have stayed in are the Doric (which is on the promenade, and by promenade I basically mean looking onto the sea and Illuminations) and The Sheraton. Both were very pleasant, can't remember costs but it was quite a few years ago.
I live in East London and would be travelling by train, unless someone is willing to take me with them! (you'd make a saving on your petrol ;-). Or travel with me by train and I'll lend you my Ipod making the time fly by!
I am definately up for a few drinks and a good old chat! Perhaps someone could be holding a big board saying DFW and we'd all immediately know what it meant!
Ben

PS my mum passed away recently and the family are looking at me to try and organise her monies etc, anybody know of any sites which offer help/advice on what to do when you've lost a loved one? Went in for a routine operation and passed away 2 weeks later...and funnily enough, I've read a story in the paper yesterday how this seemed to happen to another lady. I do not trust the NHS.
