12 hour delay compensation

I travelled form Singapore to London on Malaysian Airlines - when I got to Kulala Lumpur for change of flight I was told flight is delayed for about 7 hours due to technical issues

I was told to wait at exit gate for transport to a hotel

3 hours later a bus took all the passengers to a hotel and we were picked up next morning

Anyway the arrival was delayed by about 12 hours

I got back to London about 5pm on Friday - all my work for the day was cancelled and with the week-end in between the meetings had to be re-sceduled for Monday

All in all I wasted 3 days

The terms of the airline are all in favour of airline and don't promise any compensation

I wonder if there is a claim for compensation

Singapore Airlines are not an EU Airline
Your departure was not from an EU Airport

EU regulations will not apply in your case
Any compensation should be requested from your travel insurance
