It's beyond doubt house prices will NEVER crash

Best of luck to your children and grandchildren.
Thanks.
The children have flown the nest a while ago, have good jobs and had no issues getting onto the housing ladder.
The views I've been 'spouting' about a good education, hard work, a decent job and positioning yourself in an ever more competitive society - instead of waiting and hoping for an asset price to come down - doesn't seem such a bad view after all.

Surely the title should "won't crash again" you know after that very recent one you seem to forget about. They would do if a plague wiped out half of the global population.
I wait in hope.
Interestingly I was reading about black death the other day and that did get rid of about 40% of the worlds population, but it actually caused more proplem with repopulation as many more young males than females where killed.
Not saying I want such a thing to happen again, but part of does wonder how many problems it would solve.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017
Quit day job to run 3 businesses 08/02/2017
Started third business 25/06/2016
Son born 13/09/2015
Started a second business 03/08/2013
Officially the owner of my own business since 13/01/20120 -
Please correct me if i am wrong.
The recession was caused by the 'older' generation. People getting given mortgages that were clearly too high risk.
Now as a result the younger generation will suffer. Especially as they are a easy target for the government.0 -

OK.
You're wrong.
Consider yourself corrected.
UK mortgage lending did not cause this recession.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

So what did Hamish?
Because i have an open mind and am willing to listen.0 -
Interestingly I was reading about black death the other day ...
Maybe this could be another bear beacon of hope?
We already had:
"wait until the conservatives get in and prices will crash!"
"wait until stamp duty holiday is over and prices will crash!"
"wait until the olympics are over and prices will crash!"
"wait until benefit cap comes in and prices will crash!"
New one:
"wait until black death strikes and prices will crash!"0 -
'Protected your families?' What about young people trying to get their foot onto the property ladder? For a vast majority of these people it looks nearly impossible. I take it you don't have children/grand children!
My son is 4 this year and I am starting to feel seriously pessimistic that he will have any chance of buying his own place in 20 or so years time. I had previously assumed that all this nonsense would be over by the time he is an adult.
Hopefully the pendulum will start to swing in the other direction but when you look at all the props the government are putting in place to stop new building and condense demand I wonder.0 -
Should make it simple and do something radical.
No second homes within the same county.
Waits for the abuse0 -

No abuse, just a question for you.
for the many people / students etc who stay in a different part of the country from their home, do you wish to take away the option of ownership and force rental as the only option?:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
