Have you tried building societies for savings accounts? Not all CIFAS markers can be seen with out a SAR to CIFAS themselves.

Any, apply for a savings account that will accept direct bank payments. Remember a current account may well lead to refusal.

Yorkshire Building Society Cash Transactor; This account has recently been reviewed and no longer has a debit card. Now an ATM card but still has direct debits and standing orders. Opening balance £100 but operating balance is £0. Open account in branch or by post.

There are also pre-paid alternatives such as Cashplus and Secure Trust Bank

    hello,
i have some serious issues. so i'll start from the top

In 2012 I had a halifax ultimate reward account with £100 overdraft, a halifax credit card with £500 limit and a vanquis credit card with £250 limit and a halifax ISA. all account were used and money was paid via direct debit to each credit card.

I was accepted to uni and decide to stick to halifax and open a new student account with them and downgrade my ultimate reward account to a normal reward account to save me £15 a month in fees.

Everything went smooth. got my new cards in the post and new pin. then afew days later my bank card stopped working and i was told it was a fraud stop and to call the next day during business hours.

halifax then told me the next day i have been re-assessed and do not meet the requirements to have an account with them and they dont want to deal with me anymore. they cancelled my current and student account and also my ISA immediately.

leaving me with a halifax credit card and a vanquis credit card. with no bank account i had no details to pass onto student finance england so no way of collecting my loan money. so borrowed cash of family members and used my savings.

I have failed every attempt at getting a bank account ever since. I opened one with my parents present at lloyds which they have banked with for over 20 years. everything went fine even got the card and pin but then they cancelled it.

I have checked my credit report and it is "poor" (creditexpert) with afew missed payments in my history but nothing of dire concern. any help on this issue would be great. i have not been able to collect £8000 worth of loans and bursurys from student finance and uni. it have been very stressful.
will my mothers credit bhistory stop me geting a current account I am a student who will be going to University in September and have had my applications refused.

No, unless you have joint accounts or loans with her. Look at your own history for clues.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

i have loads of late payment ( stupid i know and sorting myself out now) on my history and i was accepted for a new barclays account, the £6.50 a month one no pronblem about 6 months ago and i was refused for a 2nd flex account with nationwide the week before. I only wanted to open a basic account with nationwide alonside my flex for my spending money but they insisted i could have another flex and i would be fine, then got declined so decided to go elsewhere and picked barclays. I was going to get the basic account there but decided to go for the fee paying one as it includes mobile and laptop insurance with it x

Perhaps I'm being cynical, but I suspect the fact you're paying for the account somewhat relaxes their criteria for allowing the account.

probably is, i dont have an overdraught on the account or anything. Just use it to pay direct debits out of. I only took that account as my mobile insurance was more than £6.50 before and i also got laptop insurance with it too.
