Goodness. it seems ages since I've done much posting on here, but with a little bit of luck this week loks a bit calmer.

We had THE Christening on Sunday and it was lovely. A great family atmosphere, my DS said that even the people who weren't family felt like they were. Mia looked beautiful and behaved impeccably, smiling and dimpling at everyone all the way through.

Now it's back to reality. I've turned out the fridge this morning and to my delight found a few limp vegetables I had forgotten about. There were a couple of carrots, some sticks of celery and leek on death row, quite enough for a bit of soup. We have HM burgers with wedges and veg tonight.

Hilstep: I think you should carpet your house with cotton wool. All the aids in the world aren't going to help if you fall without warning. It must be very scary and my heart goes out to you.

Camelot: Happy Birthday. I counted all the candles Halight gave you. Surely not! You always sound so young and sprightly.

It's just stopped raining here so I'm going to put the black bags out before it starts again.

    Hi All,
Thanks for the sympathy! I have rails on the bath and toilet already, and two stairlifts, inside and out. I also have a bath lift which is a godsend.:T
I use a stick or and my scooter or wheelchair when out, it's just indoors. As much as I hate them, I think I am going to have to have a rollator to hold onto when I move about now.
I hate having MS. If I was 74 it wouldn't be so bad, but at 54 it's no fun:mad:

OH is really worried about me, but I try and not get too down. It's just that I get so shaken up by these falls as I don't know when they are going to happen, and I fall heavily. This is the first time I have seen it properly though. It must have looked really odd, both knees folded up, like in a cartoon anmd I fell from the middle of the air!:rotfl:

Anyway, not going anywhere this week. Have ordered a Mr T shop for tomorrow, and my cousin will be going to see Daddy this week, so I am going to try and relax, see if that helps.

Thank you all again, it's so nice to know people care.:o

DG I can't get the Skye piccy to load; I think Photobucket's a bit flaky since they changed to their new site.

Aww, I know, hun; I feel the same about lupus; I'll be 53 next month. I do use my sticks indoors; one is cut from a hazel root, and was given to me by the chap who made it - originally he made it for himself, then ceased to need it, so he gave it to me. The other is coppiced hazel with a rather magnificent antler top - I got that one at a craft fair at Woburn Abbey. I find I don't mind using them as much as if I had bog-standard NHS issue ones.:o I also have a couple of purple folding sticks that I take on the scooter, as they fold small enough to bung in the basket, in case I need to dismount to poo-pick.:o I have a bath-lift, too; I got it to save Mr LW's back, as he was hauling me out of the bath himself, and I decided it wasn't doing him any good doing that. I know you don't like the idea of a walking aid indoors, but it's got to be better than all the falls you keep having, yes?
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • animated-smileys-birthday-043.gifHappy Birthday Camelot, I hope you have had a lovely day so far.

Hilly you really must see someone about all of these falls x

craigywv good news on the job :T

Well it has been a dismal day here all day, so I have lots of washing hanging on anything that isn't nailed down.

We went down to get the car taxed this morning even though it doesn't run out until the end of the month before Osborne's latest fudgit on Wednesday, so if it goes up we won't have to pay any extra until next year, I advise anyone who has to tax their car for the end of March to do it tomorrow or you could face a surcharge on your car tax

Chicken pie and veggies for dinner tonight.

    BFN x

Donny - Skye is a truly beautiful little dog, not surprised everyone offers to look after her, I would too.

    Evening All

Monnogran - I checked Headlight's candles, bloomin cheek!! Sometimes I do feel that old though!
Hilstep - I really feel for you, it must be awful, hugs to you and feel better soon.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, had a good day. One of the office staff was celebrating her 50th today and it was a good atmosphere as I had mine last year so was happy to celebrate with her (plus we had extra special cakes today!). Met some friends after work for a coffee, got home and DD had cooked tea, spicy sausage in a tomato sauce with roasted veggies and it was very yummy, well done her.

No OS today, having a day off for my birthday, will do something tomorrow.

    Take care. XX

I must report back on my shopping with a list - very successful I did stray a little as Mr M had pork shoulder on £2.50 a kg but not too bad, now I just have to stick to my meal plan one day down 5 more to go. I allocated myself £100 to shop and got the cash out - gosh it hurts far more than handing your card over, I came way under this so I will keep this in my purse until next Mon when I shop again and see what I have left - not sure if this is the best way but we will see - any suggestions welcome.

Hilstep please be careful I know how scary falls can be hopefully the OT will have some ans for you.

What a lovely dog Donny-gal when I was a wee girl my mum had a Cavie I think she was called Blenheim coloured (brown and white).
