So I've not been paid?

I receive an incoming BACS payment into my Halifax Current Account every Monday. It actually arrives into cleared funds in the account at 10.03pm every Sunday evening.

For the past 3 months or so it has arrived at 10.03pm Sunday without fail. Prior to that it seemed to arrive around 1 or 2am

Anyway, tonight I logged into online banking expecting to see the money in there and needing to make a transfer to pay a bill. The money is not there. Does this mean that it has not been paid? Or can Halifax actually vary what time an incoming payment actually hits the account?

This is a BACs payment sent from an employer and not a Faster Payment.

Hi,

I would think if it's due on the Monday then check again just after midnight.

Is your payment so urgent?

Not many companies still use the old style BACS anymore.

Yes it is urgent sad to say. I saw a couple of other Halifax customers on this board saying they expected their wages at 10pm as usual and they are not there. Hmmm.... Maybe Halifax has gone bust

Think Halifax are having problems tonight as me and a few others on the forum have not been paid yet.

mmm, thing is seems as though they have been paying you early last three months, as you say, was normally 2/3 am, check again early morning.

I rang them up. They said they've been getting loads of calls from concerned customers. Apparently their system usually updates around 10pm on Sunday but they are running late. She said to expect the money by 1am at the latest. So it looks like Halifax hasn't gone bust for now....

I'm with Lloyds and my Carers Allowance hasn't gone in yet, I don't know which bank they use. It's always there at 10.15ish on a sunday night. I know its not due until tomorrow so I'm not concerned yet, but maybe both of our payments originate from the same bank.

They are now part of the same group.

Read my post directly above. I've rang Halifax up and they've admitted they are several hours late updating all the incoming payments. Gits!!!:D
