FB is still for the uninformed sheeple.

Bit rich coming from someone who uses Facebook! :D
Except i use facebook because i enjoy it.

I opened this thread stating that i'm not interested in all the anti-facebook talk that generally comes whenever someone mentions facebook (& then all the anti FB folk get really giddy with another chance to unload) ............. and then someone still went & did it, therefore wasting their time.

Go to their page and hover/click over 'friends' below "show in news feed" you should see 'settings' - click that and click 'comments and likes' for the tick to disappear. That deals with the likes - they will no longer appear on the page..

For the shared photos I'm not sure what of those settings it comes under. I'd say consider downloading either FB Purity or Social Fixer. They both have options to hide those particular types of 'stories' and makes FB far more customisable. You can even hide posts based on specific text filters too - I don't see anything about a number of subjects, films etc because I use these! I prefer FB Purity personally - it feels far less complex to use!

EDIT: The *only* way to not see shared photos is to use a third party extension or remove them from your news feed completely. I just tried all the options facebook provides itself and none of them remove shared photos from the news feed.

It's just so bloody irritating when i go on in a morning & my news feed is absolutely littered with the 101 pictures that they've liked & shared. It's EVERY day.

  • Your Facebook friend may not be aware that every picture etc she likes shows up in her friends timeline, you could try asking her to tone it down a bit.

I enjoy Emmerdale ....... but i don't like that Belle character.
I'm a football fan (wont bother mentioning the team as it'll only get others started), and enjoy watching them play, but i don't rate one or two of our players.

You don't have to like 100% of something to enjoy it.
