Wondering if anyone can offer any advice please.
My daughers laptop keeps losing our internet connection every few minutes. Whilst my desktop upstairs is fine. Its an HP laptop and she has had it about 15 months. Its been doing this now for the last few weeks so we are starting to think something could be wrong with it? please is there any thing we can try or anything we can check to see if there is a problem.
Many thanks

Assuming its using wifi (not connected via a cable for internet) then
1. how far away from the router(internet "box") is it
2. how is the desktop connected? (wifi or cable)
3. is there a problem if you put the laptop next to your desktop
4. try a cable to connect it to the internet (and SWITCH OFF THE LAPTOP WIFI when you try this). If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
Read this, particularly step 5.

Ensure you have the latest wireless drivers.

When you run it you will see what wireless networks are near you.
If there are local networks with a strong signal on the same channel it will swamp yours and knock you off.
Instructions for changing the channel on the hub are on VM web site.

Thank you for all your replies, but unfortunately can`t download anything on the laptop as its only on for litterly a minute or two at a time then its disconnecting and then says no internet connection.
The laptop is currently on the desk next to my desktop (desktop is working fine)
Any other suggestion to try would be gratefully appreciated.0 -
