Will my Iphone3 work with all sim only card
I currently have been using my old IPhone3 (cast off from one of my kids) with an ASDA PAYG sim only card. Only for texts & calls for which it has worked fine. I also use it where there is Free Wifi or at home through my router.
As I seem to be spending £10 - £12 (yes I know not much) per month I thought I may as well get a contract sim only deal from somewhere like Talkmobile (£8 PM lots of texts more minutes than I need) but have read they will not work with IPhones.
So does anyone have any experience of using an IPhone with a sim only deal & where it is working?
PS Just checked my last months usage and it has been £15 which is very much higher than I was expecting. Could my phone be doing something 'behind the scenes' as it were about which I am not aware?

£10-£15 is a lot of money to be spending each month on calls and texts.
If you get an Ovivo sim (PAYG and runs on voda network, same as ASDA mobile) you get 150 minutes, 150 texts and 400mb free each month.0 -

The £10 - £15 doesn't seem to tally with how few calls I make & the number of texts I send so I am feeling the phone is somehow using my credit 'behind the scenes' but how & where?
I will look at Ovivo thanks:T0 -
Iphones (and other smartphones) can use data without you doing anything - updating apps etc.
If data is relatively expensive with your current company this could eat up significant £ each month.
You can turn off data easily on android phones so that it only uses WiFi and then when you need it just turn it back on again. I don't know how easy this is with iphones?0 -
Thanks Herongull I had better read the manual :beer:0

Equally easy with iPhones to turn off mobile data
1) Go to "Settings" then "General" then "Network".
2) Slide "Mobile Data" off.0 -
