The magic money tree will pay for it.0 -
Regarding voting, I would suspect that the vast majority have seen very little actual effect. Millions are sitting very pretty due to the low mortgage rates due entirely to the recession and are substantially better off and happy to see things continue.
Those (like you and me) sitting in ivory towers who are relatively unaffected by what is going on around us are kidding ourselves if we think that just because several millions of us are better off this country can continue loading the rest of the population with punishing financial burdens.
You may think that a return to Labour is a bad idea, but whatever Milliband says may be well received because it offers more hope than the continual admonishments of the wealthy cabinet ministers that the less wealthy must continue to tighten their belts.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
Now theyre saying they are wobbling towards Heseltines plan for growth (a regional one - where money is pumped in 'locally' err would that be the con heartlands/ukip marginals? then?

PS Obvs i have no problem with Osborne changing course towards Ed Balls Plan B for Growth, very pleased, but he just needs to say so honestly! A little s word would be nice too 's' for sorry)0 -
What is the Ed Balls plan for growth that the Coalition should have been following? I know that he criticises 'the cuts' without of course committing Labour to reversing them, but I'm not sure what the positive plan of action is?0

What do you think about the polling that shows Ed Balls is still very unpopular and Labour would do better if they appointed Darling as shadow chancellor?
Get David in instead of the other Ed,as well and who knows?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Government might have to think the 'unthinkable' and cut spending.0 -

Unless they actually removed or heavily reduced VAT, for a period on things like house repairs, extensions, cars etc. it would have no discernible affect on the economy anyway."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop...
