Hmmmm. SOH bypass? The suggestion is a perfectly viable solution to your problem actually. :D

    Cheers

I'm sorry, it may be I have a SOH bypass, but I really don't get what a British Passport and a pile of money have to do with saving money.

Especially seeing as I am already in the UK.

With the money you buy a flight and entry to the grandprix. The passport allows you to travel.

    = Live F1 without sky.

I was rather hoping it wouldn't be necessary to explain it. :(

I do not have a satellite so cannot try to get RTL (like people were doing last year)

Would be the cheapest solution though. £50 satellite receiver (not a Sky receiver), £20 dish and LNB, SD on RTL or maybe HD on ORF Eins (if you know how). Radio 5 for audio. No ongoing costs.

That's how I watched it yesterday in glorious HD!

Last year I paid my brother half of the HD Pack fee for the F1, he has now moved to Canada so I can longer do this.

People with satellites have been able to tune into the RTL signals in the past with an English commentary from 5-Live.

I have no qualms in paying my mum to get the HD pack, as I said above. Admittedly I would like to do it on the same grounds I did it with my brother, where I pay half, but I am willing to pay the entire £10.25pcm.

What I am not happy to do is pay Virgin Media £25.75pcm for the entire Sky Sports collection when I only want and will only watch the F1 channel.

I don't give a toss about HD as I do not have an HD TV.

    Satellite is your cheapest option.

If you hadn't just renegotiated your £65 a month with VM you could have got Sky before they change the terms of the F1 channel.

The use of Sky Go by a non subscriber is not part of the terms either...so really its either a satellite, Sky or VM Sky Sports for you to get what you want I am afraid.

Another angle - what's wrong with having half of the races live on the BBC? Have you tried it? Is there something you find painfully awful about highlights, or something about the BBC programming (excluding Jordan's shirts!)?

Sky Sports including Sky Sports F1 is now available on Now TV.

    £9.99 apparently for a whole 24 hours.

Pretty much every channel on tv is available on the net if you know where to look......including live F1 broadcasts......without downloading any dodgy add ons.
Clue, the sites that show football streams often show motorsport too

Isn't ORF Eins encrypted or is it just that you need a Cam but not a card to decrypt?
