Morning all. I made the biggest mistake of popping into town today :/ I needed to though to get my daughter her football boots which she needs for Wednesday and i had to buy my son a new lunch box as i pulled the zip off the other one :/ Oops lol. But as these were needed and essential i am taking the funds for these out of my other money.

    BUT
I did some pointless random spending on things like leggins for me, 2 summer dresses for my girls, new bottle to go with my sons new lunch box, choc for the kids, box of jacket potatos for me, but should last me a couple of days, unless the kids spot them! :/ lol

I now have £36.90 left in my purse till the weekend! I should do it as long as i don't go daft now. At least all the stuff i needed to buy has been bought.

    £23.10/£60

Thanks for the new thread ETO and glad the scan went well - how long to go now?

Welcome to the newbies  - I really find this helps me to stay on track (usually - next paragraph suggests otherwise....)

Sorry I'm late in reporting back on last week's challenge. On the plus side, my blow-out on Wednesday was my last spendy day of the week so ended up RED as expected £51.93 / £35

This week, I have a concert to go to and a day out with a friend planned on Saturday. Budgeted £50 for those. I'm also catching up with friends for dinner at their house so I'll need to take a bottle of vino. So with my budgeted spends and a little more just in case, I'm pledging £60 for this week. Determined to stay green!

Have a good week everyone :)

I have 8 and half weeks to go. That sounds really close now. I have 3 and half weeks left at work. :j I'm lucky i had some annual leave to tag on before my maternity leave. On definite wind down now. :D Can't possibly start any big projects or get involved in anything i cant see through. Lol.

Good luck with this week's challenge. shame about last weeks red but then on a positive at least you didnt spend anymore after weds.

  • Right well, I've had a NSD today. :j:j

I have a new plan... I have just opened a new current account, my plan is to move a monthly budget over after payday. I know roughly what I have left for the month, I then usually divide it into weeks based on what I know I have going on.

At the moment I withdraw my monthly budget, divide into envelopes and keep in my bedside cabinet, which means it is too easily on hand particularly if I overspend in a week, but also if I have any leftover I don't benefit as I add it to the following month.

So now any I don't spend will accrue in my account for treats, or baby stuff. :D

I think it makes sense to me so ill see how I go.

    Sorry for waffling. :D
