lost gas card
Hi, im wondering if anyone been in a similar situation? Ive lost my npower gas prepayment card and got no credit on it. I went to the shop to get some an couldnt find my card, come home an searched the house to no avail!! So looked on npower website which says to call national grid, which I did but it wasnt them that installed the meter so they wont do anything, they said I needed to wait until monday morning when npower opens again but I have a 5yr old son who isnt well and now weve got no heating/hot water. Does anyone know if npower have cards that some shops stock so I can go and pick one up or what I can do??
Thanks
Thanks

Oh, bad luck SamanCam; this has happened to me. I'm with British Gas. I lost my card about a year ago - I went to the Co-Op to put a few quid on it when it was absolutely bucketing down with rain. As I got out of the car I dropped it and, before I could pick it up, it had floated down the street and disappeared down the drain!
I explained my predicament to the checkout bod and they produced a plastic tub of various cards and meter keys. I think I had to pay about £5 for the new one though.
Use this http://www.paypoint.co.uk/paypointlocator to find all your local outlets and then ring them to find out if they've got replacements for your Npower card.
In the meantime, use candles to keep a room warm (if you have them), boil water and fill as many hot-water-bottles as you can for your little boy. Alternatively, keep him well-wrapped up (which, I'm sure, you're already doing!) and, if you have a dog or cat, encourage the pet to snuggle up on his chest or lap. When I was SERIOUSLY poor, I spent many a candlelit night wrapped in a blanket with the late, great, Jasper in the folds of the blanket with me, reading a good book.
I really hope your boy feels better soon - and best wishes to you too; it won't always be like this you know. You sound like a good mum to a lucky little boy. xxx0 -
Aww thanks, I will try ringing around in the morning. For now were sat with hoodies on and the duvet cover!! Haha.
Hopefully one of the shops will have one tomorrow, fingers crossed xx0 -

Oh seriously?!?! So that means I have to wait til Monday??
This is just ridiculous if they dont give any consideration for an emergency! I know its my fault I lost the card but to completely shut on 1 day with no other way to get any gas is a joke!!

On their website it says to contact national grid, which I did but because they don't cover this area and they didnt install the meter (enterprise did) they said they cant help me, and I would need to wait until monday morning to get in touch with npower themselves!0 -

Try NPower tomorrow anyway, if they are your supplier they are responsible for the meter and cards AFAIK. Don't you have any emergency credit? Could you borrow an electric heater from a friend, relative or neighbour?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
problem with emergency credit is you need your card to activate it, well you do on ours anyway.0
