Changing name on V5C logbook after marriage?

    Just bought the wife a new car and its registered in her married name, her licence is in her old name as is the insurance who are not bothered one jot.
    Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.

    I don't suppose they are, I was thinking more along the lines of licence and insurance being in different names and an !!!! of a copper seizing the car.

    Just fill in the bit of the form with your new name, make sure not to tick the "new keeper" box and send it off.

    If she has any points that are about to expire (i.e. 4 years old for most of them) then wait until they have actually expired before sending it off.

    When it comes back, check that the previous keeper isn't now your wife's old name, if it is phone them and have a moan, otherwise you're all sorted.

    I explained why it was confusing.

    I also understood the question. I provided the link which gave the informant required.

    Just the added irrelevant information about licenses made the post harder to read than was necessary
