Mobivox imports your skype contact list so calling is easy. you have to dial a landline access number to get access to free skype calls so that will cost from a mobile.
Redux, are you saying that you can call for 12c a minute from Portugal including the Mobile to gateway call? how does that work. Is it a toll free gateway from mobiles or a reduced price pay as u go rate.
I'm on Vodafone out there and they charge 30cents a min for national calls.
To be honest, I use skype from my laptop now and In have a proper wifi phone to take with me as there is free wifi in Portugal wherever there is a Library seemingly.
This means that I am not as sensitive to price as I was when relying just on O2.
I called O2 and flew off the handle with them when it transpired that their
ITS (international Travel Saver option) charged me 58p per min in and out
whereas My Europe, free on O2 payt was just 35p a min
If you are a business customer, You have to ask for My Europe!
THey are working out my refund as I write this.

No, that's using a callback system, which sets it up as an incoming call to you (so free on the SIM unless roaming), either with a dialtone for you to enter a number or you've already defined the destination in the set-up arrangement, maybe by wap/grps or sms or a form on a webpage
Tariffs for this are generally from about 15 to 25 cents for a call from a mobile to a landline, but the Betamax VoIP brand Voipcheap has 8 to 15 cents + vat for various European mobiles and a cent for landlines.
Previously, an arrangement could be made using both Voipcheap and another provider Voxalot, but things have got potentially much simpler with Voipcheap's recent launch of sms triggered callback, where you just send your destination number in an sms to them. You've registered your phone number in advance in your VC account.
The int'l sms might cost you a bit on your own SIM, but there are ways to do this cheaply as well, using mobile Java programs that send via wap//grps. Vyke is good, and cheap, and if you do a search on here for it you'll find a thread discussing several others as well
Coming back to O2 UK, also find out about My Europe Extra, available on both payg and contract. For a £10 a month fee, incoming calls are free, outgoing 25p/min, same as the £5 Spain only option that diamonds described above.
Then you could use callback with the free incoming calls, and one to look at is ReturnCall, which still has the remarkable rate of 2p/min for UK landlines. This one works by you dialling a trigger number, it recognises your (UK only) number and calls you back with a dialtone. Or Voipcheap's rate for UK mobiles is 8c + vat
Comparing the options, whether it's worth £10 a month to O2 depends on how many incoming and outgoing calls you have0
