Sat 16th/Sun 17th March - What small DFW things will you do this weekend??

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free. :j
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:
Morning all!
I'm working today so thought I'd get us up and running.
This is me:
- [STRIKE]Check banking[/STRIKE]
- Work 8am-2pm overtime for £100
- Post nephews birthday present to him as cheaply as possible!
- [STRIKE]Transfer £1 from budget account so I can withdraw a round £50 and have enough in there to cover a cheque I have written[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Call V1rgin card to see if any last interest was added if it is empty close the account[/STRIKE] :j £23.40 still to pay
- [STRIKE]Submit purge claim to manager[/STRIKE]- Housework this afternoon!
- Continue to use less than recommended amount of washing power, up to 22 washes so far and only used 1/3rd of a box! (It says 38 washes on the box)
- [STRIKE]Decide what level of bonus I want to be paid on this quarter[/STRIKE] I think I've decided on £800 for the quarter, leaving myself an extra £800 buffer at the end of the year
- Drop DD off at her dads and visit Mr T's on the way back, 1 journey
- Use many coupons and £4 off £30 spend at Mr T's
- [STRIKE]Email or ring council tax people to spread over 12 months[/STRIKE] E-mailed
- Start to pencil in budget for Apr-May with new council tax bill and water bill
- Clean my car inside!!!
Hope everyone stays warm and dry today, it's bucketing it down here!!
Jx
- Have also emailed Waterboard to remove ex from bill, not sure why I hadn't done this before!

Morning all,
Weekend off for me.
So far this morning,
On waking drank cup of hot water with lemon juice ( supposed to be good for flushing toxins out) and used lemon juice to tone my skin.
Coloured my hair using cheap hair dye purchased yesterday, done girlie beautifying things in preparation for girlie night out tonight.
Reminded DD to get up out of bed !
Hung up one load of washing on airer and put another on.
Tonight is a night out for my friends birthday, I have a maximum budget of £30 so will go home when it is gone and not take out bank card so not tempted to take more cash out. We are all meeting at a friends house first and I have some cider/vodka in the house that I plan to take. I also need to cobble together something as a birthday gift so planning to bake some muffins using ingredients from stores and make up a little giftbag using things I already have.
Free listing weekend on ebay so may try to find more things to list, I sold another two dresses last night so they are wrapped up ready to post when the buyers pay. I am not making much but every little helps and at least someone else will get some use out of things I don't wear anymore.
I have an old camera and phone to post off to asda tech trade in, not sure if I will get anything for them but nothing ventured nothing gained so will post those off today too.
Lodger is two months away from end of contract so will give him letter that I do not plan to extend contract once it has ended. I have two potential new lodgers in the pipeline so hoping to sort that out over next couple of months.
Happy weekend everyone
Much love

Hello from the rainy Midlands,
MS activity today so far:
*Went to the library to choose a couple of books, rather than get tempted by magazines in WHSmith's.
*Two lucky charity shop finds....I love charity-shops, it's like treasure-hunting. Bought a gorgeous shirt for partner (£3-99), I honestly don't think anyone has ever worn it so it definitely passed my all important charity shop 'armpit test' :-). Bought a 'Next' tunic for myself.....size 16 as a 'goal garment', but when I got it home, it already fits!! It looked quite small, so I think the now very slow 1lb loss a week, if I'm lucky, must be making more of a difference than I think it is. Yay!!
*All meals as per March meal plans.
*Body Shop discounted online order arrived with decent free sample of 'Rainforest hair butter'. I love freebies.
*Did a few surveys.
NOT so MSE, paid for parking in town this morning......Grrrr.....only £1-60 but I usually park free on Waitrose carpark & pop in for my free coffee on the way back. Wimped out this morning because of the rain :-/
That's it for me, I'm planning a bit of leisure time for the rest of the weekend.
Have a good one, everyone,
foxgloves x2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0
